Almost everyone knows the story of the M.S Dhoni and what he has achieved for India in Cricket. But this movie is about his struggling period and is more about how he started liking the game and pursued it as a career. The story is all about his struggles of getting selected into the national team and what all troubles he goes through during the journey to become a cricketing star and won us the prestigious 2011 World Cup.

🎬 Plus points :
Sushant Singh Rajput is undoubtedly the heart and soul of the film. He played the role of his (Dhoni’s) life. The young hero has acted so well that you will feel that Dhoni himself is playing his role in his biopic. the way Sushant has mastered the cricketing Skills and imitated Dhoni completely in the game is just outstanding to watch not only with his appearance but also with his emotional performances, Sushant holds you onto the screen until the end.
Disha Patani is playing as Dhoni’s girlfriend in movie. All the love scenes of her with Sushant have been etched wonderfully. Anupam Kher brings a lot of depth to the proceedings as Dhoni’s Dad and also Bhoomika Chawla is acted superb as the supporting sister of Dhoni. The first half of the movie is quite the early life of Dhoni and showcase what problems Dhoni had faced during his growing up as a cricketer.
Credits should also be given to VFX team for showcasing the grounds, cricket matches and Sushant in such a splendid way. The way 2011 World Cup 2 Final has been set for the climax of the movie is interesting and the feelings and goosebumps you get while watching those scenes are just unexplainable.
🎬 Minus Points :
One of the biggest minus point of the movie is the lack of some important scenes like Dhoni’s Cricket controversies and crunch situation in his captaincy. Certain scenes like Dhoni becoming the Indian Cricket Team’s Captain and other important various issues that took place after Dhoni’s entry have been completely ignored.
The movie is in so detail during the first half that one gets a feel that there is more coming in the second half. But instead the makers has rushed into the second half and wrap the film up with the World Cup Final.
Also the length of the movie is very long. So one has to adjust 3 hours to sit through the emotional proceeding.
🎦 Verdict
M.S. Dhoni is the name which will be remembered in India for the rest of our lives. His rise to the fame and the actual struggle he faced to get it is quite inspiring. First half is struggle and second half is winner. So when you see such stories and when actors like Sushant SIngh Rajput plays Dhoni in such a realistic way, It gets even more interesting. If you ignore the lengthy time and wants to see the emotional side of Dhoni’s life, the film is totally worth to watch.
Watch out, M.S. Dhoni : The Untold Story will give you Goosebumps at regular intervals.
